Exploring BlueSky: A Fresh Opportunity for OnlyFans Growth – The Lab

Good morning, everyone, and Merry Christmas! I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating with your family, friends, and loved ones. Today, I’m kicking off a new section on the blog called “The Lab.” Here, I’ll share brief updates about what I’m experimenting with across the key pillars of the OnlyFans business: Recruitment, Traffic, Content, and Chatting.

This section won’t provide definitive answers, guides, or solutions. Instead, it’s a space where I’ll share what I’m testing—whether it works or not—with the goal of sparking interesting conversations and inspiring you to try new things in your own ventures. If you want to chat directly with me about any of these experiments, feel free to contact me.

For this first article, I want to talk about an experiment I’ve started with BlueSky Social.

BlueSky Social, also known as simply BlueSky, is one of the emerging alternatives to X (formerly Twitter). Think of it as a blend between the old Twitter and Mastodon. While it doesn’t have the massive user base of Threads, it’s an excellent option for those who want a social platform free of ads and unnecessary clutter.

BlueSky aims to be a decentralized social network through its proprietary protocol called the Authenticated Transfer (AT) Protocol. This allows individuals to create their own servers or instances, similar to Mastodon. Users can join BlueSky from their own servers or use a custom username linked to their personal website. Each server offers the flexibility to customize features like feeds and moderation.

Interestingly, BlueSky started as a project within Twitter, exploring decentralization. However, after Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, the team behind BlueSky decided to break away and pursue it as an independent platform.

One of BlueSky’s standout features is its familiar interface, which closely resembles Twitter. This makes it super easy for users transitioning from Twitter to adapt quickly. BlueSky allows all the core interactions you’d expect: creating posts, liking, sharing, quoting (sharing with comments), and replying to others.

In short, it’s essentially Twitter—but without the aggressive algorithms or extensive resources to combat savvy users like us. Currently, BlueSky is in its early stages of development, which makes it ripe for experimentation.

BlueSky explicitly allows NSFW and doesn’t de-prioritize. That’s right, it is a very NSFW friendly social network. Uncensored. If the creators are there, we know that the fans will go there to follow them. I have seen everything on this network, the only type of moderation that exists are some automatic tags that simply blur the images for those who have set their accounts not to show this type of content.

Here are a few reasons I decided to experiment with BlueSky for OnlyFans strategies:

  1. Easy Registration
Signing up is incredibly simple, especially compared to some of the hurdles you might encounter on other platforms.
  2. Low Security Measures
While there is some level of account monitoring, BlueSky’s security measures are relatively lenient compared to Twitter or Threads, making it easier to explore creative strategies.
  3. Automation Tools Are Already Available
There are already some apps that allow you to automate a BlueSky account with ease. These tools simplify the process of follow/unfollow and publish scheduled content.
